Try America's Finest Corvettes, at one time you needed to call however.

If you mean NOS original arms, it will be difficult. You might find some from time-to-time on eBay. Beware of arms with the original forging number on the arm section (3779185) but a double off-set on the bracket section. Those are for 1963 pick-up trucks, not Corvettes. The Corvette arm has a single off-set on the bracket section.

If you mean used original arms, they would probably be pretty easy to find but most probably wouldn't be any good and there's no way I know of to rebuild them.

There is a good reproduction arm out there but it doesn't have the GM forging number on it.

So, rebuilding an original won't work. Oh heck. There does seem to be one made now with the numbers on it - check out 572009 at CC. What do you think?

Just for my own edification, what exactly does an idler arm do?

The CC part number is 572099. From what I can see of it, it looks like the original. I'd need to see one up close and personal to render a really informed opinion.

The description says that it has the "casting number". I was not aware that any reproduction had that feature. If so, that would be a plus if the rest of it is right.

I used the repop from AFC. I've compared to an original and was satisified with the detail. I think a chassis judge would need to have his panties in a wad to deduct anything for it. It's nicely done and includes the casting number. You can see it installed in the pic below.

                  Tracy,

This seems to be the same one now being sold by various dealers. Thanks.
