    69 rebuilt quadrajet #7029215 issues

    Hey guys-
I finally found a rebuilt #7029215 quadrajet period correct rebuilt carb. out of California for a reasonable price. I just got it sent to me and although it looks rebuilt properly, the setup on a few things look different than what I recall with this carb. Specifically 2 things: 1) the distributor inlet is not located in the rear of the carb. but in the front. Also there is no tube to carb. for the pvc valve to vent through . The stamping appears to be correct though. Any thoughts? anyone that has knowledge of BB quadrajet carbs. I'd love to send pic's to and get your thoughts.Scott

I admit I am not a BB expert, my 68 has a 327. But I am guessing that you my have a rebuilt carb with possibly the wrong base plate on it. They are easily swapped back and forth between carbs. So it also may be relatively easy to get the right base plate on the carb if you have or can find one.

Dan, I think your right, I Think it does have the wrong base plate after doing some further research.

Pictures would definitely help, especially since I'm not really understanding your description of the carb features.

First, I don't know what you mean by "distributor inlet". If you mean the vacuum port for the distributor vacuum advance, that port should be located on the driver side front of the carb float bowl assembly. It was not located on the carb throttle body assembly.

The port for the PCV system should be on the front of the throttle body assembly.
