I have an early 62 powerglide with the original dipstick. GM Technical Service Bulletin DR #514 shows that my dipstick needs to be replaced with GM P/N 3818931. I have been unable to find a source for a replacement. Is the 63 dipstick the same length as listed in the Bulletin? (The Bulletin is available on Willcox website)

The GM #3818931 dipstick was applicable to 1962 Corvettes ONLY. I do not know what the specs were for this dipstick. However, the 1963 dipstick was a different part number and I assume its specs were different. Unfortunately, the GM #3818931 dipstick was discontinued without supercession in February, 1969.
Given it's very limited application, a total of 1,531 cars ever built, I would expect that finding one will be difficult. That would probably be made more difficult by the fact that many of these pieces never had a part number on them to begin with, although I don't know if that's the case for this particular dipstick. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
