1968 L-89 Vin 18456, Where Are You?

A friend found a 68 L-89 Corvette engine in a 1967 RS/SS Camaro he bought last April. We sure would like to reunite it with the car......or the car with the engine. The pad shows T0430IU 18S418456. We don't know if it was a coupe or convertible. The Camaro was from Phoenix, and was an original RS/SS Convert. It came with its original 350/295hp engine, needing rebuild. Being an Air conditioned , 4 speed convert, my friend returned it to original, and removed the good running big block. The aluminum heads intreagued him, so he called me and here we are today trying to reunite the engine and car. Hope someone can help. Maybe this new SHIPPING REPORT might shed some info. THANK YOU ALL

...can't help there, but this particular '68 was born 22 cars after my '68 L-79 M-21 convertible #18434.

For $4.95, go to instaVIN.com and see what they have. If the car is currently registered they should show it (the state), unless it is one of the states not reporting. If you don't like the report, request a refund. That will give you a closer idea if the car is alive and potentially where to look.
