I have never rebuilt calipers before and need advice on where to find instructions for the change to O-rings. My car is a 66 and I think I heard the rebuild procedure is in a 65 supplement. Have changed out my calipers but would like to have directions in hand before starting a rebuild.

Instructions for rebuilding the calipers will be found in any 1966 or later Chevrolet including Corvette Factory Service Manual or later Corvette-only Factory Service Manual. The instructions for o-ring-type caliper conversion will, of course, not be shown in the manual but it's exactly the same as the usual procedure. You will have to use special pistons designed for o-rings as well as o-ring seals. Any special instructions should come with the o-ring piston and seal kit.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Advice for O ring caliper rebuild -66
Joe,
I have been to my service manual but the guy at one of the two big Corvette brake manufacturers suggested the 65 supllement for instructions and simce I don't have one wanted to know if I was missing something.
Thanks,

The '65 supplement has step-by-step instructions for rebuilding your calipers, but so does your '66 Chassis Service Manual.- Top
