The plastic envelope is GM #3834959; same one was used from '65-'67.

Hi John,

What I was refering to was not the plastic.
If you look at the left photo from a known 66 mid year car, the envelope has brown type, the envelope on the right, red.

So the question is which one is correct given know original and the most common envelope "sold as " original?

Neither one is correct - the ones in the photos were dealer-supplied items; they didn't come from St. Louis. Only the clear plastic envelope was in the car when it left the plant.

That means that the Owner protection Warranty booklet was in the plastic bag leaving STL?

Yes, that's correct - with the P-O-P glued to it.

Depends on the dealer. Some didn't use anything, some supplied their own locally-procured envelope like the ones in your photo with their name on it (and all the things the warranty DIDN'T cover).
