C1 Rear Leaf Springs - Are these OK?

I have attached two photos of the right side leaf springs. Not how the front of the springs as they reach the shackle start to recurve. Is this correct? Both sides look the same. The picture is with the frame support by a floor jack under the differential, so frame weight is on the springs. But it doesn't see to change much with the weight off.

Do I need to get these re-arched?

    Thanks,

    Don Harris

both photos show extreme distortion of the springs, probably due to severe wheelhop in the past. mike

As usual Mike is correct. Very common for solid axle leaf spring. My limited experience is they will bend back if stressed (IE: hard acceleration). Don H.

Looks to me like a severe application of torque-----------------as in drag racing!
NO, that is NOT correct. If they were mine, I would NOT replace them, I'd have them correctly rearched and put them back on.

OK, so who does the rearch of leaf springs?

Try Eaton Spring in Michigan, should be several articles in the archives
