What to do with the Old Engine Parts

I'm trying to organize and clean my garage this fall and ran into all the old parts my engine rebuilder gave me from his work about 3 years ago. I know what you're thinking, your garage must be in pretty bad shape to still have all that stuff. (It is but it's getting better) I have all the old parts such as valves, valve springs, pistons, cam shaft, oil pump and other miscellaneous items from my 427/390 hp in about 3 boxes. Is there any reason to keep the parts or should I give it back to the engine rebuilder and he can sell it for scrap?

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

    A familiar dilemma...

I'm hanging onto all the original bits and pieces from my C2 and C3 because 1) I revere these old buggies and love to preserve any "originality" they have - on or off of the car and 2) if I ever sell either car, I figure since they are NCRS flight judged, some portion of a prospective buyer's decision will likely be based on the car's completeness, correctness and originality. In other words, the parts deserve to stay with car as part of it's story.

If you think I should audition for the TV show "Horders" - you're probably right and you should just chuck 'em! (...or drop them off at my place...)

      Terry,

Welcome to the hoarding club! Did you see Zora's camshaft lamp on here? Here's a thread that shows Zora's office and the lamp in all of its glory!

I was thinking of making one out of my scrap cam. Maybe turn some of the pieces into automotive art for your garage? As you can tell, I hate to throw things out. I blame my Grandpa.

I saved a few pushrods and rocker arms for my road emergency spares kit. The nuts and bolts are always useful. I'd consider the rest scrap.
