    Looking at a C5 car in NJ to purchase

    I have been searching for my 2nd corvette. I am looking for a 2002 - 2004 Yellow, Targa top, Black interior, manual with low mileage (below 30,000). The car I found in TX did not check out with the 2 NCRS reviewers I was able to locate in the Houston area.

    I am looking for an all numbers matching, original C5 (late) car as above to have judged in 10 years. I believe I may have found a car in Paramus, NJ.
    It is at the Paramus Auto Mall and the vin number is 1G1YY22G645110909.

    I really need someone from that area who is an expert on C5's to go over, take a look at the car, drive it, and while out with it pull it over to the side some where and really go over the car for me.

    I will gladly pay for this service. This saved me from buying a car in TX that I would not have been happy with.

    Please help me if you can!

    take the VIN to GM dealer and have them run it to check the service record on the car. this will tell you if any parts have been replaced under warranty

      Val;

      I'm no C5 expert, but I live fairly close to Paramus (which is a traffic zoo BTW). I be happy to head over there and get you some pictures. Perhaps with that some of the C5 experts can render an opinion. If someone has a list of parts which are externally numbered and dated, I would be happy to check those out as well.

      I also work very cheap.... free!

        You might want to consider a 2005, they made 37000+ of them and they ride a lot nicer and quiter then the c5's.

              Val / Henry,

              Just my 2 cents worth - if Val elects to move up to a C6 IMO go with a 2007 or newer. The 05/06's were first year C6's and from the comments on the "other" forum suffer from many of the 1st year issues that the 68's and 84's did.

              I'd be real carefull of the 05 with A/T (one year only option), also it sounds like Val may be staging for flight judging of the C5's which a C6 will move that goal out even more - I'm just waiting with wife's '98
