I have July car with p/b, what mouth did they go from 5/16 to 1/4 brake lines in 65 because in 66 they had 1/4 lines. As a July car should my car have 5/16 or 1/4 lines thanks Ralph

Re: 65 master cylinder
Both Noland Adams and the NCRS 1965 Judging Guide agree on this one! Each source states all '65 cars used 3/16" power brake lines while '66 cars used 1/4" lines. That says the change appears to have been timed to the model year change over point.- Top

Re: 65 master cylinder
The above comments came in 2010. Today, Paragon lists the 1966 pb master cylinder as "late-65" and "66".
So, we are wondering if there's a different view on this change over?

Re: 65 master cylinder
Agree with JacK H on this one. This was a model year change. The brake lines were route on top of the frame front to rear in 1965 and installed on the inside of the frame rail in 1966-67. The 1966 pb master cyl.( for 1/4 inch lines) are also more plentiful a than the 1965 as it was also sold as a GM service replacement and through Delco for the 1965 PB cars with 2 adapters/enlargers so it could be installed on both model years.- Top
