I show the 501-56 as being a strut MOUNT rather than a shock. However, it could be a mis-application of a term which sometimes creeps into the system. If you're sure that what's in the box is what was originally in there and what's there is a shock, then it must be an incorrect term. In any event Delco #501-56 is applicable to quite a few applications involving Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick from about 1980 through about 1996. The applications are mostly mid size cars like the Chevrolet Celebrity, Pontiac 6000, Oldsmobile Cutless Cierra, and Buick Skykark. 510-56 is still available in SERVICE under Delco 501-56 or GM #88946290.

I can't find an application for the 501-88, last available also under GM #88946322. However, it might be the same as above. It's GM discontinued. I show it as a "suspension bearing", whatever that is.

      Thank you Joe.
