    '61 ignition shield screws

My '61 was built in Nov. 1960. Trying to find out which were the correct
upper ignition shield screws, i.e., what head markings etc. and what type
    of lock washers.

    Thanks,

    Bill

    Re: '61 ignition shield screws

    Bill,

Page 60 of the JG says the top shield is fastened with three 1/4-20x1/2" chrome hex head bolts and plated lock washers (which also serve to hold the top portion of the verticle shields).

Although correct, the back two bolts can be tough to reach and adjust. Many of us (my '61 was also born in November) use the chrome wing nuts in the back and the bolt on top. Switch them before judging if that's your concern.

I have #2767 - is your VIN close to that??

    Peter
