What has happened to my bumpers???

I have been driving my '60 around town on a regular basis and have encouraged my husband to do the same. I returned home today from a short trek during which my wonderbar i-tunes jack in the back stopped working. I parked Bella in my driveway to cool down. When I came back outside to crawl down under the driver's side to check on the insertion of the i-phone jack into the wonderbar radio I noticed that the side bumpers were ajar!!! (Bilaterally!!!)

What is up with this! Bella has not been hit and I do not understand why both sides have plummeted? I showed Bella in West Jefferson, Carolina's Chapter local meet on Sept 25th and this was not a problem. Now there is undo pressure being exerted onto the fiberglass frame underneath the chrome bilaterally. What is going on here????

Re: What has happened to my bumpers???

I took photos from both sides and tried to insert them into my thread but it did not take.

The part that is sagging is the chrome bumper on the right and left side of the car.

I am concerned about driving her until the issue is resolved or at least diagnosed.

I'll try to post the pics tomorrow if time permits.

Thanks for you help in advance.

Did you check the brackets? Are they tight? I'm assuming you are talking the front bumpers?

        Terry,
Do I need to jack the car up to check the brackets? I'm at work right now and need to be here on call for another 6 hours but I will check when I get home. I'll also try to post the photos again.

        Thanks,

            Jerry,
Thanks for the post! The part number that is sagging is 201201 bilaterally and it appears that the bracket number is 201207. It seems odd to me that is has occurred on both sides at the same time.

Valeria, it's probably just some loose bolts. That's not uncommon. Hopefully someone did not hit you in a parking lot. After inspecting the brackets to make sure that they're not bent, I would loosen all of the bolts, align everything carefully, and tighten them. You don't have to jack the car up but it helps.

Thanks to all who responded to my SOS. Jack P. is due here on Saturday on his US tour. I will get him to help me get the bumpers aligned and off the fiberglass and retightened. I have a new jack and jack stands so I'm all set!
                  Again, a hearty thank you!

                      Jerry,
The bumpers are not fixed yet. The bolts on sides that hold the bumper intact are loose bilaterally. Probably too many bumps in the ole road lossened them. Bella needs to go back to the painter for some touch-up work that he promised to do. I'll get him to readjust them as he was the one who put them back on the car.
