    McDorman-Mecum Auction Orange '69 427/435

Anyone have any pictures or details on the 1969 Monocco Orange convertible featured from the McDorman Collection going to auction on Nov 6? Pictures? The website indicates that it received a Topflight award at sometime.

There are six pictures on the Mecum website. Did you try calling them or McDorman about more info?

Yes, I did see the pics on the Mecum site and also called a week ago but they had no additional information. Would like to see engine compartment and get any info that may be out there. I figured there would be some pics from one of the McDorman shows but nothing on the internet.

Keith, I glanced at most of those cars and it appeared to me that a lot of them had not been run in a while, just an FYI. Also I seem to remember someone saying that it is not a sidepipe car.

I took this picture at the NCRS show 9/9-11/10. The paint is very shiny; sure looks to be BC/CC.

Great picture. The NCRS members have been great thus far. I've also heard from another professional that he feels the sidepipes have been added. All posts are greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone!!! First time I heard that it may have been a Proteam car.

Waaaaaaay too early to have side pipes. About 10-12,000 VIN #'s too soon.

Here are pictures of another 1969 at this year's McDorman show, this one is supposed to be Monza Red (see 3rd picture, written on paper laying on the seat). The color looks very orange-ish red, same as my old 1969 Corvette (L46) with Monza Red paint (see picture #4). In bright sunlight, my car looked almost completely orange, like serial #00435 above. At dusk or on a cloudy day, my car looked red.

Does anyone have a picture of a 1969 Monaco Orange car next to a 1969 Monza Red car for a color comparison?

Replys have been great so far. Thank you everyone. Hopefully I can get some pics of the motor but so far I have heard that the car was pretty much locked up during the McDorman shows.

during the ncrs meet on friday the 69 was the only car that managed to have it's hood open! i asked several employees about openning the hoods on the earlier corvettes , but no one was authorized to do so. i assumed, since the employees stated many cars had not been started till recently, that a little more work or detailing might be done on the engine compartments.

John - How was the the engine compartment to the '69? Did it have the smog pump? Also, did you see the Top Flight certificate? Was it National, Regional, or Chapter? How about year Top Flight received. Thanks for your help it is greatly appreciated!!! And of course if you have any pics that would be great too. Still nothing from Mecum.
