When I originally took the head off I found two of the head bolts have a 1/16th hole drilled in the bottom and a hole in the side about 3/8" above the top of the threads. I didn't think there were any on a 235, one machine shop says the bolts feed oil to the rockers and another says I'm right because the rockers are fed by the tube between the two rocker stands, through the block, head gasket then the head.

I have no information that any such "special" bolts were used on 1953-55 Corvette 6 cylinder engines. The original bolts were GM #3835743 (1/2-13 X 4-1/2") and GM #3835744 (1/2-13 X 3-1/8").In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
