    Terry,

it was a bit of a joke at John. His basement is quite large and when I last saw it had very little down there.

Sorry Pat, I missed the joke. I have never been to John's place.

My comments about paper still stand though -- for those who are tempted by the space available.

I'll keep buying the magazines, I read them in my sole refuge from the wife and kids - the head.

Got mine Monday. I believe that will be the last.

You got yours before I did. That means all the good parts will be gone.

              Oops. Wrong mag.

I'm a charter subscriber to "Automobile Quarterly", hard-bound with my name embossed on the cover; started in 1962. That's 48 years' worth, 192 hard-bound volumes - they take up a bit of space too .
If you wait until pulp paper prices skyrocket, they may be worth $10. Other than that = worthless. I just threw 20 years worth of Drivelines in the re-cycle bin. They're not worth what it would cost to ship them.

Just got my renewal and last issue notice on wednesday. Since I had already renewed it in Sept. they had made a mistake in my address, which I had them correct, however, I've been "negatived optioned" to have a pile of magazines that I ready don't want.

                    Re: Corvette Enhusiast Magazine

I let my subscription to CE run out a year or so ago and in late July I received an unsolicited 'complimentary' copy along with a subscription order form. I declined, and shortly after that the end of the mag was announced. Too bad for Bob Stevens; I had met him at BG and several other shows and he seemed like a genuine enthusiast. This situation of folding into a combination mag to fulfill the subscription has happened to me before; Sportscar International tanked and I was sent Porsche Enthusiast for the remainder...barely opened those issues. As others have said it will only be a matter of time until more mags are history-the renewal deals out there can't possibly be generating any profits and advertisers are aware of the problem so they're trying to negotiate the best deal for themselves as well.
