Thank you to the members who put on this meet. This is my first larger meet. I could not help on this meet, but I could attend for a few hours. I am very proud of my fellow members. Great job. I am proud to be a member of your chapter. Dale

Re: Western Regional
Dale-
I hopped over to the event from So. CAL and enjoyed the show immensely.
All you New Mexicans I spoke with were real friendly folks.
The shinndigg was well organized and the Emb Suites hotel was real nice. I loved the vettes that came out. Bill Baker's milk shake bar was a treat, and his ice cream parlor girls were great eye candy. My one recommendation for next time would be to put up a huge tent to shield the cars and people from the hi intensity NM sun. But I know that would probably make the registration fee quadruple. A good sombrero is cheaper. Anyway, thanks NewMex chapter for a fun weekend of cars and networking.Last edited by Don H.; October 6, 2010, 10:24 AM.- Top

Don,
We originally tried to find indoor meet space, but all the places we found were to small or to expensive. The Embassy Suits only had about 12K floor space so we chose to go the "outdoor" route. This meet was two years in the planning. We were expecting cooler weather, but the weather people didn't cooperate. At least it didn't rain.
If we do this again we may try holding it at one of the Indian casino's. They have the room and are very cooperative, only thing it we would be somewhat isolated, as most are several miles from downtown. Bill Wilhelm- Top

Re: Westen Regional
Bill
my comment was in no way a criticism. I fully understand that it was not feasible to cover the parking lot. When I noted that exercise mats were provided for some comfort while proned out on the asphault, I could see that the planners had their thinking caps on and really tried to cover the bases. In a perfect world these meets would all take place under cover of some kind, be it trees (I know trees can be rough on paint) or tent or within a parking structure. But, this is not a perfect world.
I make no complaint whatsoever, and eagerly look forward to the next Regional I can attend.
thanks- Top

In no way were your comments taken as criticism. But if any of the participants have constructive criticism they would be welcome. The perfect meet has yet to be held and the New Mexico Chapter is open to ANY ideas that would help us improve the next event we put togather. Thanks, Bill- Top
