1960 Grill Bar Installation

I'm trying to install my grill bar and teeth assembly on my 1960 and I'm having real difficulty in getting the end brackets to mount. I thought that the slots in the end brackets would make it a snap. I've tried keeping the brackets loosely attached to the grill bar, but the span between the bumperette studs seem too far apart. I also tried mounting one side first, but that didn't work either. The bumperettes are already installed. Am I going about this the right way? Do I have to loosen (or remove) the bumperettes to get the grill bar to mount?

You need to have the bumpers loose and install the grill bar and get it lined up to the bumpers and then line up the bumpers as an assembly.
The bumpers need to be spaced so they are level and the correct amount above and below where they are resessed into the body.To get everything correct you adjust and shim the bumpers and bumper brackets.
This takes some time but they can be possitioned correctly.

Joe, thank you very much quick reply and the tip. I had been struggling with the grill bar this afternoon trying not to scrape the upper and lower eyebrow mouldings and unaware of the other adjustments needed. I appreciate the help.
