It looks like we will have an excellent regional. Nice weather, many great cars (mostly C2s it seems), and a good crowd. Also good schools and discussions, like around the new info data available on the cars available starting tomorrow.

Re: Western Regional
I just want to say "Thank You" to the New Mexico chapter for throwing a great Regional.. Bill, Fritz, Dan and the entire crew did a great job organizing and managing the event. They even managed to schedule that neat balloon thingy while we were there! It was a fun time and a great venue. Thanks!

Re: Western Regional
. As a NM Chapter member (thus a bit biased?), I also think we have some great folks and they worked hard to make the regional a success. I also want to take time to thank and commend all the judges. They were great, very knowledgeable, and very fair and professional, even when slicing, dicing, and attacking your pride and joys
. It's like many said, that ribbon you take home is probably the most expensive one you ever got!

Re: Western Regional
In restoration and judging the devil is in the details. So too in putting on an NCRS event. I didn't see a single detail the New Mexico guys overlooked. If there was one they covered it well, and of course that is also the art of running a successful event.
Thanks to all the hard working New Mexico members for a very well done Regional. Milk shakes for everyone!Terry- Top

Re: Western Regional
Gee Dave, I thought it mattered on Saturday.I must have missed something on Thursday since I arrived mid-day.
BTW: I was very impressed by the orderly egress from the Awards Ceremony when the fire alarm went off. It is not easy for a large group to stay calm when these things happen, and all it takes is one person to panic and the group turns into a herd. When I had a real job the fire alarm was usually accompanied by smoke and fire works though.Terry- Top

Re: Western Regional
You know Dave; you just might have something there. The fire alarm, which turned out to be false, rousted everyone from the hotel.
I did hear about the fire trucks, and I was sorry to miss that "show." Although I understand it was modern equipment, an antique fire muster can be a load of fun -- even more fun that we had, but they usually don't have milk shakes.
The fire trucks and associated fire chiefs were just one of the hurdles the New Mexico folks overcame that were out of sight to many of us. I heard the hotel had double-booked the parking lot.
I did have a brief but pleasant conversation with one of the fire chiefs' convention attendees. He had just inherited a 1967 It sounded like it was not very stock, but he stated we gave him a lot encouragement to do something with the car. I could see in his eyes he had caught the NCRS disease -- or maybe that was the sun, or a balloon passing by.Terry- Top
