    67 Headlight Circuit Breaker ID

I need help identifying my 67 BB headlight circuit breaker. The breaker on my car is a very small one made by Tung Sol marked with 40A. I have another breaker removed from a 67 as well that is much larger and marked Littlefuse with 40A. Are both correct for this application and they simply represent two different suppliers? Is it possible that the smaller one is for a power window circuit breaker? My car is an early 67 built in mid-September. Attached are pics of both breakers.
    thanks,
    Dereck

    Derek,

40A is the correct amperage size for this breaker.

Both cars I observed have the larger 40 amp breaker, but neither car is "early" in production. One car has power windows with the larger 40A breaker. However, this breaker was replaced long ago and I cannot remember what the original looked like.

I would say the larger breaker is the way to go, but based only what I have seen. It is very possible different suppliers were used during wiring harness assembly.

      Douglas,
I'm in agreement with you. I've not seen a car with the smaller circuit breaker. I'll put the larger one on and keep the smaller one just in case it was used on early cars. I also just noticed a three digit part number of 374 stamped on the part. I'm not sure about the first digits in the GM part number. I'll keep searching for the application.
      thanks,
      Dereck

I have worked on many 67's and never saw an original car with the small breaker, infact I have never seen that small breaker till this post. The power window breaker was the same. 63-66's used a breaker that pushed into a clip to hold it to the hinge pillar. It was the same size as the large breaker you have but without the mounting tab.
