The owners manual shows that I should use #631 bulbs for replacements in my 74 for the front courtesy lights. I had a hard time finding them, but now have a set. Does anyone know why these bulbs have 2 elements but only one contact on the base. When I put them in, both elements light up. Other bulbs I have tried like the #63 burned out very quick and the #671 12v 9k bulbs have worked while I found the 631's. Comments about the above differences and especially the 2 elements in the correct #631's would be appreciated to help understand the differences. Thanks

I don't understand why the 631 lamp was hard-to-find. All of the major automotive lamp manufacturers like GE, Wagner, and Sylvania still make them. It might be that they are used only for older applications so they might not be hot sellers, but they should still be widely available. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
