    65 coupe turnsignal switch

I have 1965 coupe with a telescoping wheel. The left brake
light is inop unless I hold the turn signal stalk up just slightly.
Has anyone tried to repair the switch? Also how does the
horn button come off with the telescoping wheel? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Karl

Karl, It has been a while since I had mine apart but I am sure the horn button pries off. Once you get it off the rest of the dissassembly is fairly straight forward. I think the switch is unique to tele columns, not sure if it is repairable. Good luck, Don H.

      Karl -

Section N36, sheet 2 and 3 in the Assembly Manual have the exploded illustration and step-by-step assembly procedure for the tele column, and there's a whole chapter on it (section 9) in the 1965 Corvette Shop Manual.

The Switch Itself Has Probably Cracked And Seperated As They Become Brittle With Age And The Plastic Was Drilled For Screws To Retain The Switch.replacing The Switch Will Be A Lot Easier If You Disconnect The Harness At The Lower Part Of The Column
And Unwrap The Original (if It Is Still There) Tape That Keeps The Harness Secure In The Plastic Sleeve. Then Once The Switch Is Ready To Remove, Slide The Switch Up And Out Of The Column Housing And You Can Unplug The Wiring Right From The Switch Without Replacing The Lower Wiring Harness Or Removing The Wires From The Plastic Coneectors. I Just Did This And It Saves A Lot Of Time This Way.
The "partslady" On Ebay Was Selling Some Telescopic Switches A Lot Cheaper Than Other Sources. The Switches For Telescopic And Non-telescopic Are Definetly Different So It Must Be For A Telescopic Column.
