ZR1 Heaven in the parking lot

Tom Hill and the boys from Bowling Green drove ZR1's to Funfest. What a sight to see parked overnight in the parking lot of the Fairfield Inn.

The White ZR1 is Tom Hill's test car.

This would be a good car to get once he is done with it.

Tom had that car, or one just like it, in Concord.

...for detail shots of the 2 ZR1's at Charlotte visit my Photobucket link. There are many underbody photos of them on the lifts at the end of the photo album.
edit......the blue car at Charlotte was a Z06.

The blue one would be my Z06. You got more and better pictures of it than I have.
After the Advanced Judging School we had a nice C6 tech session thanks to Tom Hill. That was a fun time.

          Terry,

Glad I got some shots for you.... Truly a nice Z06. Being a '07 coupe owner, it was interesting seeing the differences between my base, steel frame car and the aluminum frame cars. I was particularly curious about the front wheel inner hub differences between the ZR1 and your Z06. (pics below ).

Tom explained it then to me but I forget what the sensor in the hub is for on the ZR1. I seem to recall the Z06 front hub has the splines which if I recall is the same part for the rear wheels.

I believe the sensor in the hub has something to do with the shock absorbers on the ZR1. I am told the ZR1 rides and handles very differently than the Z06 due to this suspension feature. I can't recall the name of the system right now, but it involves a magnetically activated shock fluid.

Re: ZR1 Heaven in the parking lot

I'm getting ready to have ZR1 heaven in my shop in about a week. I purchased a 1988 ZR1 Prototype, EX5023. It was one of the UK Lotus Development cars. Time for a rebuild!!

Sure would like to have a new one though....
