I just removed my 66 cluster to be sent off for refurbishing. There is a capacitor that was connected to the volt meter. The connector to the volt meter has a black wire and a black wire with a white stripe. Of course, being the idiot I am, I didn't pay attention to which stud the capacitor was connected to. Also there is a capacitor that was connected to the cigarette lighter I think. By accident before I looked at the back of the lighter I knocked the red wire off that connected to the lighter, I think I have to put the capacitor on the cigarette lighter and then reconnect the red wire to the back of the lighter. Is this correct? Also please tell me which wire to connect to on the volt meter, the all black or the black with the white stripe. Thanks in advance, Bob.

Re: 66 Cluster Capacitor Questions
The other radio noise suppression capacitor near the lighter has nothing to do with the lighter; it has a wire and female connector body on it, which connects to the 14-ga. brown wire coming off the dash harness behind the cluster, which has a mating male connector on it.
All the radio capacitors and their connections are shown in detail in section U69 (radio) in your Assembly Manual.- Top
