    '66 VIN # 194376S112838 Original Paperwork on e-bay

FYI - e-bay listing with original paperwork for '66 VIN # 194376S112838 - car's not listed in Rob's C2 registry. Hopefully a NCRS member knows of the car and can unite the current owner with the original papers. Gary....

That would be the find of the century for the owner of that car!

Is there a benefit to registering your car?

The primary benefit is so that people can find it/you if they were a past owner or otherwise have information about the car(s) you may now own. There was a recent story either here or at another forum site about how a guy having documentation found a few owners by referring to the registry. Vice-versa too I suppose, i.e. if you used to own a car and had pictures or whatever, and wanted to find the current owner to share this information.

On the other hand, I guess that can be a big negative if you paid 6-figures for a 427/435 car and some guy has the original tank sticker showing it to be 327/300 that he wants to give you.

Some don't participate for privacy reasons I would guess.

Sure would be nice if more did, 300 avg per year for 25k produced per year is a low number.

                      Ed,
Not many people know about that site and fewer use it. Look at how many cars are there per year, about 1% by year.

I've suggested before there needs to be one repository that all the various Corvette websites link to. C2.org is not the only one, and look at the 15000 NCRS members - not many put their cars their either. Part of this I'm told is privacy, don't want other to know what they have. Perhaps another is email spam intrusion (one reason I went AWOL from that site).

There needs to be improvements, there needs to be a place that is free (fleebay is not) where people can post this stuff for the original owners to find. Examples I have posted before, and a new one from a friend, the 1st owner of a 1969 427 silver side pipe car, original to central PA, found his window sticker, takers???

Maybe in the future NCRS can help in this regard to have a lost & found for VIN specific documents.

A NCRS site for docs is a great idea
