    Thanks To Gary Ramadei

    All,
I have been in the WWII fighter aircraft restoration business for close to 30 years and began to restore my 69 Corvette about two years ago. I am nearing completion. In the fighter restoration business, it is very difficult to know who you can really trust to do specialty work that you do not have the expertise or equipment to do yourself. Thus, through a relatively small grapevine of restorers we develop a trusted group of folks who we have found, usually by trial and error, that we depend on for these special services. I have found this very true in the Corvette restoration business as well. So I hope that what I am about to say is appropriate for this forum.

Several weeks ago I approached the forum with questions concerning issues I was having with my differential which had just been overhauled by a local shop. Joe Lucia and Gary Ramadei immediately offered helpful suggestions and insight. Gary continued privately with many detailed photos of posi units like mine to explain what was happening. His help there was of great help to me. Ultimately, the local overhaul shop refused to correct the problem and after discussing this with Gary, he offered to help again. I didn't realize at the time that he actually had his own shop doing specialized blueprinted posi rear ends, steering boxes and trailing arms. I was in a real pickle because the shop wanted my car off the lift and I was getting no where having my diff fixed. Gary made some calls to customers in line in front of me who each gratiously allowed my diff to move to the front of the line.

Gary worked me in, worked right through his weekend, and provided photos of each step of the rebuild and I have to say I have rarely been so impressed with ANYONE's work! I got the diff back in the car right away and the result, which is no suprise to me, is just perfection. The diff is quiet and works perfectly and I have the peace of mind knowing that it was done right by a true expert light years beyond what the factory could do.

So, thanks again Gary! If any of you need this type of service I hope you will call Gary and avoid the pain I went through before Gary took the time to help me in the first place.

I hope I didn't offend the etiquette of the forum, but some things are just worth sharing....

Thanks for sharing, Brad, although I think all of us know of and respect Gary's expertise. One of the most impressive things I've found about him is that he shares his knowlege in detail, not only on this forum but on others as well.

There is a LOT of really good people out there. It's the bad ones who sometimes are the only ones who get all the attention. Gary Ramadei is a true lover of his craft and a gentlemen and is kind enough to realize the situation we owners sometimes find ourselves. It's great the hear these stories of one Corvette affectionation expert helping another !
Each day is a gift, respect it, and enjoy it as if it were the last!

I concur. Gary is an excellent source for component rebuilding. If I had any of the components that Gary specializes in that needed a rebuild that I could not (or, didn't want to) handle myself, I would send them to Gary.
