I just replaced the original speaker on my 65. There was no cloth cover or any trace of there ever being one.

My early March built '66 has a cloth cover attached over the speaker cone.

Should have bought the speaker from these guys.

Scroll down the link for the 58-67 Corvette speakers.

          Any radio issues,call this guy.

That is where I got my replacement speaker from and I had Jerry go completely through my radio, boost performance and put in an I-pod jack.

I was referring to the original speaker that I removed from the car and there was no cloth.

The Corvette 6X9 speaker from Turnswitch will be judged as a reproduction because it doesn't have the original rectangular magnet housing. I was gigged at the Nationals... the judge used a mirror and flashlight to see the speaker. Color of frame might also come into play as the original has the "silver zinc" color.

                Ah!

Jerry did the same thing for mine. It really sounds good.
