I need to replace the leaf spring in our '66 coupe. Which vendors might you recommend for this? I've purchased such items from Muskegon Brake before and been satisfied. Also, should I get getting the 9-leaf spring? Any advice appreciated. Best regards.

Re: C2 Rear Leaf Spring
Eaton Detroit Spring is considered the best manufacturer for these springs, you can buy from them direct. If your car was originally equipped with a 9-leaf, than a 9-leaf would be best unless you are changing the rest of the springs/bars/shocks to an F41 configuration.
Good luck,

Re: C2 Rear Leaf Spring
I recently purchased and installed the Eaton 9 leaf spring in my '67 L79 and it fit perfectly. The spring leaves are thicker than original which makes the overall thickness of the new spring thicker than an original one. I measured the Eaton spring to be about 5/16" thicker than an original one that came out of my '66. The original bolts will be a bit short as a result of this added spring thickness. I replaced my original bolts with slightly longer ones being EXTRA careful to get the length on the front bolts correct. Too long of a bolt in this area will crack or break into the differential case causing a leak not to mention broken pieces of cast iron sitting in the bottom of the housing!

Re: C2 Rear Leaf Spring
Jeff,
I replaced my spring because it had a negative arch to it. I'm not sure that only replacing the largest leaf is the best way to restore proper ride height and spring function. Having one new leaf and eight old ones wouldn't sit well with me so I chose to put in a complete new spring and it worked out great.
