    London, Ontario Regional 2011

Someone at the Queen City Regional mentioned something about having to post a bond at Border Customs to get your Vette into Canada for the event...and if true, I assume you get your bond money back on the return when they see you still have the car.

    Any help/clarification would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bill

I've never heard of having to do that, and we sure didn't back in 2004.

      Thanks Patrick.

The video says to expect few problems crossing the border, if you can prove you own the car and are registered for the NCRS meet....and that you carry acceptable Western Hemisphere Travel Identification.

Passport and registration in your name should work if driving, as I remember some folks in Trailers (or trucks) with commercial business names on the side had a bit of a hassle crossing the boarder in 2004, but I don't remember which direction. Things might have tightened up a tad since then.

Well I went to Niagara Falls earlier this year and by the time you pull up to the Canadian border agent, they know everything about your car from the license plate. In my case the truck was owned by the company i work for (GM) so I had to explain that and show ID (passports) for the wife and kids and tell them where I was going and what i was doing. Took about five minutes overall and they never looked in the truck....

            Bill:

I have never heard of anything like what you describe. I suspect that your source is misinformed.

We look forward to seeing you in London.

Thank you for your interest in the Fleetwood farms Regional to be held June 9-11, 2011. I have both driven and trailered my Corvettes to many NCRS events in the USA. I have the Corvettes registered in my name along with a copy of my registration for the NCRS event. On many occasions the Customs officials never even looked in the trailer. You will be questioned about firearms, so leave them at home. Our website has a nine minute promotional video on the location of our event. Our host Steve Plunkett is an avid Cadillac collector. See www.fleetwoodcountrycruizein.com to view pictures of his charity event.
