    T-3 headlight question

Has anyone seen the bulbs from LectricLimited to see how they compare to originals? If not close, where else should I be looking?
    Thanks.

    Jack,

Repops from LL are fine, probably brighter than originals. Repops will have a "DOT" on the face. Small judging deduction for the repops, but likely more reliable.

I found two low beam originals by sending messages to any ebay seller offering any T-3 bulbs. It seems they have access to them but do not always advertise them for sale. Needed one, bought one for future use. Paid $25 + shipping for the two.

Are the T-3's from Lectric Limited designed for year specific? i.e. 72's are different then 71's etc.

72 T'3s are different and are not being made that I know of.

Jerome, From time to time I see them on E/bay, I found a few for my 72. They were on late 71 and 72 GM cars but not all models. be careful though, Fogged lamps is a sign of a failure- it starts at the top of the headlamp. make sure to get ones that have a clear pic of the lamps, low beams are the ones that fail the most.(Of coarse)

I find T-3s at swap meets all of the time and nice clear ones for $5 each. I have a few no-lined, lined, and fewer '72 T-3s There is a friend in Oklahoma that makes a living from salvage yards. I believe he has at least one set of '72s for sale. If not he will find them eventually. Or you can start hitting the small town salvage yards. You won't believe the stuff you will find: colored fuses, dated hose clamps, AC caps with Ws, T-3s, RC-15 radiator caps, etc.
