    Non Corvette Chevrolet history question

    I've finished the restoration of my '61 Corvette and am looking for another project. One possibility is a '61 Impala. I've been researching it and am getting some conflicting information. Some sources say that the 380 hp 409 was the highest hp available, while others say that near the end of the year they put some 409/409hp engines in 61's. Does anyone know the answer or can you direct me to another discussion board dealing with early Impalas? As always, thanks for the help that I've always gotten from you guys.
