    69 L-71 Alternator pulley confusion

I have searched through the archives and the 3rd ed TIM. I found one archived thread that posters claimed the alt. pulley w/o PS is a 3844100. Neither option is found in the manual. What I do find in the chart of the manual on page 54, is two pulley numbers but both show to be for PS. MY question is what is the correct pulley part number for an L-71, w/o PS? And is this pulley armed with a thick or thin machining to space it away from the alternator face?

    Dan,

don't have the pt # handy but it is not spaced like the P/S pulley it has a thin back wall.
Check the paragon repop I'm pretty sure it has the correct pt # stamped on it.

The part number for the pulley was GM #3829387. It's long-since GM-discontinued but available in reproduction.

        Thanks Joe.
I am looking for an original and have managed to find a 38711242 which I was hoping to be the one I need. Oh well.

The GM #3871242 would be correct IF the car had power steering. So, if one day you add it, then you'll have the right pulley.
