Cross member crayon mark and tank straps

My differencial cross member had an X in crayon on it. I can't tell if it was white or yellow. Anyone know which color on a early 70?
Also the judging guide states that gas tank attaching straps are natural finish steel. Mine are definately black. I am possitive they have not been messed with.

Straps should be black.

My June build 1972 has green X marks on both sides.

Thanks guys. I came to the conclusion my x was in white. Looking at your green marks at the rustiest place still have the green tint.

I can see my gas tank straps were/are black. The TIM states "Attaching straps are natural finish steel".

My 73 original straps have reminents of black paint.

My mid-January built 71 had a good bit of black remaining on the tank straps. 46k miles.

The gas tank straps were dip-primed black.
