Yes, great show! Bob McDorman was a wonderful host and wants to make the meet an annual event. I didn't realize that Bob is member 124 in NCRS. Now that's what I call a founding father!

Thanks to the Queen City chapter for all their hard work. It was a great event. Met a lot of nice people and received a lot of helpful ideas along with a laundry list of things to work on.

I too had a great time and the McDorman facility was a great venue. However, what was troubling was the number of C2 registered Flight no shows. We had one 65 (out of 4 registered) show and three (out of 6 registered) show for judging. This seems rather strange considering that the 65 and 66 classes are often filled for Regionals.

Since I am the Chairman for the Pennsylvania Regional in 2012 and our Regional is at the same time of year as the QC Regional, I'd like to determine what were the causes of the no shows? I heard a couple of possible explanations during the QC Regional, but alone do not buy these.

Dave, the turnout is a crap shoot. We have had 100% at a few regionals that I have had a part in, but most of the time we have several no-shows. Quite a bit of the time someone is restoring their car and do not make the event because their car is not ready. Family illness, change of mind, money, all factor in the decision. You just plan for what registers and improvise when they do not show.

Hate to bring up the subject again but: Could it be the new rules about
the Trim Tags? I know if I wasn't a 100% sure I would never bring a car

This might sound somewhat backwards but.......... due to the generosity of the host at this regional, bringing and showing a car was really inexpensive. Folks may have registered then some minor glitch caused them to say "well I won't lose to much, so I'll stay home". It was a pleasure to save a few bucks to me!

Dave, I did the registration for the Heartland Regional in May and we had quite a few cancelations but did also have no shows. Some of the reasons were car not ready (as previously stated), too far (money), illness, and we were a fall back for previous meet (especially if they passed PV). I don't think you can prevent it, it just happens. Be sure to include a "no refund after" date on the flyer. Good luck. Don H.

Registration was all over the place - there were 7 later C4s and just one early C4 (me).
