Can someone tell me what this is and where it goes? Looked in the 1967 AIM but could not find. Page in AIM would be nice, if possible. Thanks.

Re: L36 part?
Definitely the vacuum advance metal tube holder. Held in place by a manifold bolt. Probably doesn't show up in the AIM as it came with the engine from Tonawanda.- Top

Re: L36 part?
Doesn't the metal line clip onto the two small tabs. What is the function of the larger clamping portion at the end of the part?Jack Corso

Re: L36 part?
Jack,
My error!Didn't look close enough at the photo. That is not the vacuum advance tube holder for a standard 67 390/427. I don't know what the larger "clip" is for. Attached is a photo of the correct clip for the vacuum advance tube for a 390......

Re: L36 part?
The clip pictured here is the only type of manifold-mounted, vacuum tube clip that I am familiar with for both small blocks and big blocks. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: L36 part?
John,
I believe clip you have is a special designed clip for use on L36 motors with the Air Injector Reactor system.
The bottom clip is for the vacuum advance. The top clip is for the vacuum signal to the fuel mixture control valve.Attached Files- Top

John,
By the way, if you have an A.I.R. motor and need that clip, it is almost impossible to find.- Top

Re: L36 part?
Doug------
Looks like that's it. This clip would apply only to 1966-67 L-36 with K-19. I believe that other 1966-67 engines with K-19 used a different tube/hose routing and/or configuration. 1968+ with AIR used a different diverter valve set-up and the hose did not require or utilize routing through any sort of clip. So, this would be a very rare piece, indeed. I can't find a part number for it but I'll keep looking when I get a chance. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: L36 part?
Dennis------
Maybe they were using up some of the 66-67 style clips for some period of time. In any event, the upper part of this clip would have had no purpose for 68+ with AIR but the rest of the clip would work just like the more common one in Steve's photo. As I mentioned, the only one that I've ever observed is the style like the one in Steve's photo. I must not have looked close enough. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: L36 part?
Thanks for the input. I do not think my L36 had K19, but...? It was delivered at Jim Rathman Chev in the Titusville, FL area. So, not a West Coast car, but not sure that would preclude it from having K19. Car is very original. Does have AC (C60), does that change anything?- Top
