    Float Adj.-70 LT-1 Carb.#4555

OK; Here's my story: Have a 70 LT-1 with original #4555 Model 4150 Holley Carb. (I always said this model is the best looking leaking carb that
was ever made; Ha Ha) My LT-1 happens to be in a "F" car. My Z28 is a
"tailer queen" so it is not started all that often. Anyway I started the other day(About 3 weeks from last start) and could not keep idle; very
rough. Choke worked so I decided to check the floats. Sure enough the
secondary float was leaking gas when site plug pulled. I found that the
adj. nut was on the loose side but the screw lock(in the adj. nut) was very tight. The adj. nut turned counter clockwise from either the vibrations or the air temp difference in the garage. We are in IL. so the
inside of my garage in the summer varies from 90 to 50 degrees. Has any-
body ever experienced this? I can't tighten the screw lock anymore. I have marked the position of the the adj. nut so it won't effect me anymore. Comments please.

sounds like the needle seat is no longer inside the adjustment nut and when you turn the lock screw the whole needle seat is turning

I've had the same problem until I started using Fuel Fresh on a regular basis. Varnish would form on the needle valve and causing bowl to over fill.
