Have you seen an original car that differs from the car and a piece of original documentation that goes with the car?I recently bought a '67 390hp convertible. The car has been parked for over 30yrs.The engine, paint and interior all appear to be original. The odometers shows 31K.I have the POP,original window sticker, dealer invoice as well as the original order receipt where the buyer picked out what he wanted on the car and the canceled checks when it was paid for.Every thing matches up with what is on the car and the trim tag.The car is nothing exotic. It is a soft top only, radio delete,390hp.I dropped the tank. The sticker is still present and is in decent shape. It too matches up with the car except for one item.On the sticker for trim it shows the code 402/black leather. The trim tag and all of the other paperwork show STD vinyl interior. The vinyl seat covers as well as the rest of the interior appear to be all original and there conditions all are the same.So I do not think that the seat covers have been changed.Any one else seen this before?

Re: tank sticker ??
I have not heard of this, but there are relatively few cars with the complete set of docs you have, in my experience. But I am curious about your tank sticker. The top line on mine says under "Option Number" on the "Trim" line: "8STD TM" and then "Black Trim" under the "Description" header. Yours then says "402 black leather"?Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: tank sticker ??
Anything is possible. But it has to be evaluated case by case. If your trim tag matches the interior, apparently there was a change order going down the line. Maybe John Hinckley will chime it as he was there for a whileDick Whittington- Top

Re: tank sticker ??
Normally, the tank sticker (Corvette Order Copy) was computer-produced from the same data set as the window sticker and Car Shipper so spec-wise they all match, but stranger things have happened. Based on all the other docs/plates showing STD trim and the car being built that way, I'd suspect a plant data error.- Top

Re: tank sticker ??
Not your case, but when I ordered my '77 August 6, 1976 I ordered black leather. I got a confirmation from the dealer and it included black cloth. I contacted him by phone and it was changed to leather. All my documents, except his first confirmation, have black leather.

Re: tank sticker ??
My 68 coupe has the Rear Window Defroster option on the tank sticker, crossed out in pen. It was never installed in the car.Jack Corso

this is a pretty much stripped down car, soft top only,no radio basically 390hp and a 4sp.So the leather interior would stick out. With all of the paper work that is with the car that matches the options or in this case lack of options I am with you on plant data error.

Re: tank sticker ??
The original owner of my '67 told me he ordered the car with red stripe tires but it was delivered to the dealer with white wall tires. He also told me he refused to take delivery on the car. So the dealer took the car around the corner to the Firestone tire store and had new redline tires installed. Then he took delivery of the car. The tank sticker reflects this change. I suppose it happened all the time. PT- Top
