Schedule of Events at McDorman Corvette Show this week - and QUESTIONS about the Show

I'm hoping to make it to the annual Bob McDorman Chevrolet Corvette Show in Columbus Ohio this weekend. I posted the schedule of events below, with a couple of questions for those who have been there in recent years.

Can anyone confirm 67SB Flight Judging for Saturday (schedule says "subject to change")? I would really like to observe, listen and take pictures if that is allowed, it would help a lot to see in person how to do it "right" when we begin reassembling the car.

Thanks for any info or advice,

    Scott

    Scott,

In order to participate in any of the NCRS related functions a NCRS Member must be registered for the event. Examples; attending Judging schools, Judging, Observer Judge, etc. NCRS functions are not available to the general public.

Sorry, do not have any particulars on the event's schedule or swap meet.

      Scott,

When my meet registration was confirmed I received an adjusted schedule of the Flight Judging. I don't have that with me at work, so I can not help you with specifics of what was changed. However I would point out that having an up-to-the-minute schedule of events is another advantage of registering for the meet; although in fairness I have been to NCRS events where the schedule changed the day of events.

The swap meet part of the Regional is not a NCRS function. That is part of Bob Mcdorman's Chevy show and swap meet. We the Queen City Chapter have no control of that portion of the event.

If you attend the Thursday NCRS portion of our event and wish to be part of the activates that day you must register. Which can be done at the event location. On Friday and Saturday the other portion of the event is open to the public at that point we have no control of who enters the grounds. But if you wish to participate on the 3 days of our event. Starting on Thursday you need to register. With your registration you can take all the photos you would like with the car owners permission attend all the other functions Judging schools, Seminars, Observer judging and all of Mr. Mcdorman's events that are listed.

It is still my understanding the schedule of events has not changed. I will be leaving for Columbus in the next 1/2 hour to begin the setup of our event. When I speak with John Ballard today if there any changes I will list them here later today.

        Hope to see you there.

Is the Flight judging field indoor or outdoor? Is Sportsman parking indoor or outdoor and is it secure parking? Will trailer parking be secure and is it on the McDorman grounds?

          Thanks,

I did receive notice that some changes in days of judging had changed. But either class for 1967 was not on it.

Thanks Gary, this is all new to me, so I'm trying to figure out what's what. I went to the McDorman Corvette shows with my Dad in the 1970s and early 80s, and again in 2008 (Saturday afternoon only), but I wasn't a member of the NCRS then.

Where can I find more information about Judging schools, Judging, Observer Judge, other learning opportunities, what qualifications are required to participate, i.e., the basics? I spend a lot of time on the TDB, but I have not explored these other areas yet.

Thanks Terry, I marked my calendar and will pre-register for next years' McDorman show before the August 1st deadline.

I am in charge of the arrivals and parking of cars and trailers at the Mcdorman show for the NCRS.
All the judged and display cars will be inside and PV and sportsman cars will be outside.
The trailers will be on the grounds in a grass area and tow vehichles will be parked closer to the show area. You will need a vehicle to get to the hotels for they are six miles away. Sportsman cars will be able to come and go during the show. McDorman will have security during the show until Sunday morning.
The cars will have operation checks preformed outside on Thursday and will be placed inside as soon as they are completed.
The schedule may change due to the team leaders needs and I can not comment on a final schedule now.
Thursday is a set up day for the McDorman show and the vendors will be setting up and their show is not open to the public on Thursday.
The NCRS portion of the show is open to registered members and anyone who wants to register at the show on Thursday.
