    Capacitor near ignition switch

I had a brown wire hanging down near the ignition switch on my '66 L79 coupe. I found the capacitor that plugs into it and put it on, but the capacitor has a strap/attachment and I can't see where that attaches. Any ideas where the strap is screwed into the area under the dash? Thanks for any ideas. And another thing, there seems to be about 2 dozen capacitors on this car all over the place, why so many?

If I remember right it is mounted near the very bottom of the dash to the sheet metal just above the bottom edge of the casting. I believe the capacitors are for radio interference because of the glass body of the car.
I will be going out to the shop this evening and will try to get my camera in there and get you a picture.

Thanks very much, a picture would help alot. Just think all the capacitors seem like overkill. The '64 Dodge I restored had very few, guess maybe the fiberglass makes the difference.

          Mike,
See if you have an 'oxidation shadow' where these were bolted. This is the spot, issue with my car is - no shadow, cap was hanging, could have been early in its life, but still no evidence it was ever screwed down. FWIW.

Yes, that's the one, thanks, now I can secure it properly.

Thanks for the tip. I don't see an obvious shadow either. But think the best thing to do is secure it as in Peter's picture.
