    1954 WonderBar power leads...

My radio has white cloth wires from the light over the tuner. The power wires are old white cloth insulation type as well.

Since the wiring diagram omits all accessories, the wiring kit I got from Lectric Limited has a yellowish wire with an inline fuse. Is that the power lead and should I replace the white one on the radio with this at the point where it attaches inside the radio?

The kit also contains a brown wire with white stripes with a connector like the ones used to attach wires to the ignition switch. Is this wire supposed to replace the white cloth wire currently attached to the pigtail in the bulb housing on top of the tuner? The bulb is a 6 volt #55 which I assume is right since the rest of the gauge lamps are also #55. Only other option would be a #51?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Also, the knob stem skinny jamb nuts are gone. Were these the same through 1962, or are the 53-55 different? I'm having trouble finding a pair. CC has them from 1956-1962.

    Thanks!

Randy, the leads supplied will be different in that one has a fuse connector. The lead with the fuse connector is for the power to the junction block, using an SFE14 fuse. All in-line fuses for the 6 volt system are SFE14's. The other wire is for the connection to the headlight switch. If you do not connect to the headlight switch, you'll have no radio light.

      Thanks, Brett.

Last week I opened up the radio and connected the power wire inside at the direction of Jerry Rudbeck. I also changed out the wire to the off/on switch and replaced it with the LL wire for the light. I even reproduced the little wire clips on the housing to hold them in place. Works like a champ!
