57 with philips head screws ?

I am looking at a 57 fuelie, which has a lot of originality and documentation, however I was dumbfounded to see the VIN tag on the door ledge had phillips head screws, not rivets. Being a mid year Vette person, is this correct ?

Yes, phillips screws were used through 1960.
Then in 61 & 62 the vin tag was spot welded to the steering column.
