    Battery location

Which is the correct side for the battery on a '65 396 Vette, driver or passenger side? The car has Vintage AC but not factory AC and the battery is currently located on the pass side below the expansion tank.

Original L-78 installations used left (driver) side battery mounting.

Thanks Joe for the info. Where there special battery cables to travel to/from the starter and ground?

Yes -- the ground from the driver side battery location just goes under one of the closest bellhousing-to-motor bolts; the positive cable is 60" long (IIRC) and is held in firewall clips that route it over the bellhousing and down to the starter. Same cable as for air conditioned cars.
