    Looking for photo of '63

Does anyone have a photo that they can post of a white '63 convertible with black wall tires and '63 hubcaps? I am going to replace the tires and currently have white walls, but am considering changing to black walls.

Do you have photoshop software? You could easily take out the whitewalls on a pic of your own car. Do several from different angles to be sure you like it.

      Hadn't thought of modern technology.

Great idea_ worked like a charm. I really like my "new" black walls.

          Hi Steve,

Did you 'photoshop' in the White faced steel wheels to go along with your blackwalls?

No, I left the hubcaps in. If you have white rims and black walls, you've probably been running hot laps with Duke.

              Steve,

You would be able to see the outer portion (lip) of the White faced steel wheels behind the hubcaps. Kind of like having the best of both worlds.

I have a photo of a coupe that is set up like that. It's a nice look.

Syd is right...I'd forgotten that 63s with blackwalls have wheels painted body color.

I thought all white cars got black rims for 1963.

The first 63 I ever saw was in the summer of 62 at a GM Training Center in Monroeville, PA. It was a silver coupe up on a rack. no wheel cover, blackwall tires. The wheels were 100% silver painted.
But that car was most likely a pilot car as we know now that the color coat was typically applied to the wheels at the outer face that shows with the wheel covers on.
The white car in the nice pic looks funny looking with the white wheels though. Glad my LWC (little white car) has fake whitewalls. JD
