Looks like passenger car, bench seat, "Spaghetti" shifters used from 1957 thru 62.

What are the numbers on the case, tail shaft and side cover? Same trans for both years, but dates will apply to the correct year. I have the numbers if you need.

Hard to find 57 and 58 'real' units. Only 664 in 57 and 3764 in 58 made it to Corvette production.

Doug, your shifter looks like the '61 passenger car shifter I have and was bought in '61.

I believe the thicker shaft pass shifter was Pontiac, 62-63. Could be 63 Chevy also. I have 30 or 40 of those pass shifters in several variations and haven't got them all identified yet.

          Doug,
If you stand behind the tailshaft of the transmission and look at the shifter handle does it have a bend near the base that causes the handle to lean to the right (passenger side of car) about 5 degrees? If so, it is a shifter for a '61-'62 (and maybe '63 as well) Pontiac full size car with bench seat. '61 and '62 and I think '63 Pontiacs used a bellhousing with a bolt pattern that rotated the transmission about 5 degrees to the left, so the floor shifter handles had a bend near the base to compensate. The Chevrolet bench seat passenger car 4-speed shifter handles did not have this bend. I happen to be looking for the Pontiac shifter (or just the handle) to use in the restoration of my '61 425A Ventura.

I have a 61 Chevy Bubble Top..I am building and could use a bench seat shifter.

I dont need anything exotic or rare just something that works.PM me if you can help.

Doug...I have complete experimental 0 dash casting # all cast iron T-10 4 spd and original shifter if you need pictures. This 4 speed is one of the earliest. I have not seen another except for the picture of one in Nolands book. I had it on display at the Bloomington Special Collection in 2007..and one observer pointed out the size of the cross shafts were larger than later T-10's even other known original 57 T-10's.

                Joe.
I sent you an email about the shifter with my addy.
I have seen a very early cast iron T-10 with a 56 casting date. Don't remember if it was an 0 casting, but probably was. It belonged to Bob Flack (Pioneer Classic) here in Phoenix.

                  Cecil..I heard about a Oct/Nov dated
T10 out that way. If Bob still owns
It I would like to trade pictures with
                  Him .

I don't see Bob much since he closed the shop. I think he and Darla moved to Prescott. He usually shows up at one our few local annual swap meets. When I see him again I'll ask.
