Up until today I have thought my 64 white coupe to have the original paint. I was replacing the headlights with some T-3's and found some curiosities. The left bucket has some overspray (white) around the trim rings, and also some blue overspray where the adjusters are located. See pic 1. and 2 .
1. Why is there blue spray over the white?
2. Were the headlights in place at painting or is this an obvious repaint?
The next problem I found is when I opened up the right side. Same overspray patterns but the retaining rings have only 2 tabs (and a spring) (pic 3 ) but the lefts have three tabs plus the spring. To quote Sesame St."One of these things is not like the other". Apparently there has been some replacement in the past and I don't know which, if either is original. I would like some input on solving these riddles. Thanks, Dan
