72 convertible header guide pin

should they be chrome? looks like mine was painted over when they repainted the frame black. also the 2 mounting screws. paint flaking off and they look shiny. 12 point head on them. are these correct.

I know for sure that 68-69 are chrome and am pretty sure 70-72 are chrome also.

thanks Rich, i thought that, but while i had latches off to remove overspray, etc. figured i ask before installing.

Yes, the guide pins were even the same part number for 1969-72 and were all chromed. The 1968 guide pins were also chromed but, curiously, for 1968 the guide pins were supposed to be the same ones used for the hard-top, GM #3913977 and 3913978. The 1969-72 soft top guide pins, GM #3958703 and 3958704, would not have existed at the beginning of the 1968 model year and had no predecessor part number, so I guess the 3913977 and 3913978 must actually have been used.

I have some NOS examples of all so I'll have to dig them out some time and compare them.
