I am getting ready to bond the replacement front end onto the '59 project. I have a few questions.....
At St Louis, was blackout done with the radiator support attached? The original nose shows no paint behind where the support was attached so I would think it was attached. Was the support masked? It would seem it would need it to support the front end in the paint shop.
I'm trying to decide if I should remove the inner skirts again to prep and paint them blackout before bonding everything together. It would seem to make it easier for me if I did that, as I have to prep sand them anyways. After bonding the skirts to the front valence I'll have to go back and touch up the blackout in those areas. Thoughts?
Also....... front bonding strips?(see pic) Were they already bonded to either the skirts or nose, then bonded to the other of the two? Or were the strips bonded to both simultaneously? I would think at the body build section they had a jig for the build process.

p.s. I have experimented with various bonding adhesives lately. I am utterly frustrated with the resin based adhesive from a Florida Supplier
. I have 2 cans from 2 different lots and it's all junk.
Several attempts have yielded unsatisfactory results. Whether or not its the resin or the MEK hardener, I just don't trust it now. I will be using the 3M 8116 epoxy based panel adhesive.
