I am trying to help a friend of mine sell a dual quad setup that he got in the mid 60s and put it on a shelf in his garage and it has not moved it since. He cannot remember where or what he got it off of. It looks like a Corvette 270 HP setup to me. I am just looking for him get a fair price for it, so far he was offered $20 and a 6 pack. The tag on the rear carb says 3741090, 2614S, jo, o and hole in the shape of a music note. 6-1299 appears on the top of both carbs. The manifold has no markings except the firing order that I can find. It has a heat shield riveted to the bottom. The whole thing is very dirty and I am afraid to do alot of clean up. No real corrision.

Re: Dual Quad Idenfication
They look like a set of 270HP carbs off of 58-60 Corvette. The 2614S is the correct tag for the rear. The front should be 2613S. The date on the rear tag will ID the year. A=Jan, B=Feb, etc. The last digit of the calendar year will follow that letter.
The Air Horn (top) should be the 6-1299 you mentioned and the main body should be 0-049 or 0-1049. The 0-049 is the most common fororiginal carbs I believe.
The correct throttle body is 1-1387B and you have to remove it from the main body to see this number.
I would also check the manifold. It should be a 3739653.
I would not clean it up. Leave it alone.
A set of good cores dual quad corvette carbs with manifolds should fetch in the $1,200 to $2,000 range and are not easy to come by. I have heard of people finding them on the curb on garbage day in the 60's and 70's.
You should check all the numbers and advertise in the driveline or on EBAY.- Top

Re: Dual Quad Idenfication
For best results on EBAY you should remove the base and take a pictures of the casting number. You should post pictures of the air horn and body casting numbers as well and pitures of all 4 sides plus top and bottom.- Top
