57 Transmission Finish

I am retoring my Corvette and I am wondering how the transmission was finished. It is a three speed manual transmission. The car is a late build sometime in August.

It's natural cast iron, as described in the Chassis section of the Judging Guide.

It's just as John mentions. In addition, the main case had a VERY slightly "brownish-yellowish hue" to it. If a case has suffered any corrosion or has been media blasted in any way, I don't think it's possible to restore the exact, as-cast surface color. This is actually true of just about any natural finish cast iron pieces.
