    63 convertible deck clearance

The rear deck clearance aon the sides is very tight. I don't think it was that way before I installed the Keisler 5 speed. During the 5-speed install I added the later C2 aluminum spacers (as per Keisler instructions) to get a skosh more clearance for the transmission. Could that have changed the geometry of the opening where the deck fits?

    Steve -

At what body mount positions did you install the spacers, and how thick are they?

If you need to lift the body to gain clearance, the smart thing to do, is to lift all 12 attaching points by the same amount.

I agree, but it really shouldn't close the gaps on the sides of the deck lid, no matter what shims were used. Some of them are very tight.

It's my understanding that the 63 didn't use any spacers, but later C2s did. They are about 1/2" thick. I misspoke about the aluminum. Only the two front mount spacers are aluminum; the others are rubber.

You might have to add shims to rear mounts. Would you have a pic?
